Interim altered timeline

This is strictly to record the events of the altered timeline that existed briefly during Moebius parts 1 & 2. The material listed here does not affect the existing characters or universe at all.

People

Apophis

Still alive and well in 2004, with Teal'c as his loyal First Prime. (Moebius part 2)

When Teal'c brought Daniel to him, saying he was of the Tau'ri, Apophis first scoffed, then started to ribbon Daniel. The first round didn't do anything -- Daniel never said a word. Apophis sent Teal'c away and got back down to it, ribboning Daniel again, determined to get information. (Moebius part 2)

At some point, he decided to plant a symbiote in Daniel, then put him back among the other prisoners to be his spy. (Moebius part 2)

He ordered a fleet of ha'tak vessels to Earth after learning about it from the symbiote in Daniel's mind. (Moebius part 2)

Bosworth X

Part of the team that used the jumper to go through the stargate to Chulak. Kawalsky assigned him to go with him, Jack, Sam, and Daniel to the city. (Moebius part 2)

He was captured with the others on Chulak and thrown into a cell. (Moebius part 2)

During their escape, he was shot and killed by the goa'ulded Daniel. (Moebius part 2)

Dr. Samantha Carter

In 2004, she was a civilian working at the Department of Aeronautical Research headquarters in Washington, DC as an assistant to Dr. Hirschfeld, who put his own name on her research to gain the credit. She was angry about it but never directly confronted him. She was very surprised when Major Davis showed up to talk to her about a matter of national security. (Moebius part 1)

She signed her non-disclosure statement as fast as she could, wanting to find out what they'd been brought in for. (Moebius part 1)

She didn't expect to be included in any of the adventurous stuff, but went along with Daniel when he started trying to get them involved, including using up her frequent-flyer miles to go with Daniel to try to talk Jack into coming back with them and watching the tape for himself. (Moebius part 1)

When Major Davis showed them the jumper that had the time device in it, Sam was fascinated. She was less fascinated with McKay, who kept bothering her. (Moebius part 1)

Thanks to being kept up to date on Daniel's translations -- he told her more than he told the military -- she figured out that McKay's attempts to dial the stargate using the jumper might have had an effect in Antarctica. (Moebius part 1)

She and Daniel both assumed that would get them included -- no dice. As the stargate was lowered down into place, Hammond thanked them and told them their work was done. (Moebius part 1)

They argued the point all the way to a briefing with Kawalsky and Jack (and a few other people), and pushed it even more when they heard that the plan was to send a small team through to Chulak. Sam pointed out that they needed a tactical advantage, and she and Daniel helped Jack figure out how to fly the time-travel ship. When Jack managed to start it up, they both begged him to let them join the team, and a gut instinct made him agree. (Moebius part 2)

They were all captured on Chulak and put in a holding cell. Eventually Teal'c believed their story enough to help them by giving them back their gear, although he couldn't free them directly. When handed a gun, Sam said she didn't really like guns. Jack asked how she felt about explosives -- she said she liked those a little more. (Moebius part 2)

She was shocked when Teal'c shot Daniel during their escape, although she believed him when he said that Daniel had become a Goa'uld and a spy. She was more shocked when Bosworth, Kawalsky, Donner, and Mansfield died around her -- she'd never really seen anyone die before, and it was a lot to take. (Moebius part 2)

When they couldn't escape the gliders chasing them, she suggested going back in time 5,000 years.   It worked, and Jack had her dial them through to Earth. They wound up in ancient Egypt. (Moebius part 2)

After meeting up with the original-timeline Daniel and Katep, and everyone agreeing on the new plan (continue the uprising, but also steal and bury the stargate before Ra could take it with him), she and Jack went to see if they could get the cloaking device working on the jumper. While they were working, she was taken very much by surprise when Jack called her hot, turning things a bit awkward before she blurted out that she was attracted to Daniel. (Moebius part 2)

When they came under attack by a Jaffa patrol, Sam threw caution to the winds and kissed Jack, much to his surprise. She started to explain that she'd lied about liking Daniel more because she was a cautious person -- Jack shut her up by kissing her more. When Daniel and Teal'c saved the day and got the patrol to surrender, telling Jack and Sam they could come out now, they declined to do so. (Moebius part 2)

Major Davis

He was sent to pick up both Dr. Carter and Dr. Jackson on a matter of national security -- they appeared on a camcorder tape that had been found in a dig at a 5,000 year old site in Egypt. (Moebius part 1)

He served at least some of the time as the go-between for Hammond in dealing with Daniel and Sam -- when they asked to see Hammond to tell him something important, Davis told them to tell him, and he'd decide if it was important enough. They'd come up with the exact location of the second stargate in Antarctica -- Davis promptly excused himself to go tell Hammond. (Moebius part 2)

top | People

Donner X

Part of the team that used the jumper to go through the stargate to Chulak. Kawalsky assigned him to stay with the ship, along with Mansfield. (Moebius part 2)

He was shot and killed by a Jaffa staff weapon while covering the rest of the team's escape as they approached the jumper. (Moebius part 2)

top | People

Brigadier General George Hammond

In 2004, he was a one-star general, commander of the USAF Research Institute at Cheyenne Mountain. He met with Drs. Carter and Jackson, showing them the tape of their alternate selves once they'd signed non-disclosure agreements. (Moebius part 1)

He didn't have much contact with them after that, mostly using Major Davis as a go-between. When their information about the location of the second stargate proved correct, he brought them to the gateroom so they could see it being lowered, then thanked them and told them their job was done -- they weren't qualified to go through the stargate and wouldn't be part of the mission. (Moebius part 1)

top | People

Henry Hayes

In 2004, he was the Secretary of the Interior. (Moebius part 1)

top | People

Dr. Daniel Jackson X

In 2004, he was working as a teacher of English as a Second Language, and pretty much hated it. Major Davis showed up during one lesson to talk to him about a matter of national security. (Moebius part 1)

When given a non-disclosure agreement to sign, Daniel made a token protest, but gave in when he found out his only other option was to walk away. (Moebius part 1)

After seeing the tape, Daniel wanted to take the opportunity to change his life completely, feeling like his life had always been lacking something. He figured that since he and Carter were already on the tape as proven intergalactic explorers and time travelers, he should be considered suitable. (Moebius part 1)

When Hammond made it clear that they weren't going to be included in any of the adventurous stuff, Daniel went to Sam and told her they needed someone to go to bat for them. They settled on Jack O'Neill, and went to find him on his boat. At Jack's insistence, they chartered his boat for an hour to talk to him, even though they never left the dock, and filled him in on everything they'd found out. He wasn't impressed. (Moebius part 1)

Later, when Daniel and Sam figured out where the second stargate must be located, they both assumed that would get them included -- no dice.

They were captured on Chulak, and Daniel was brought before Apophis to be questioned. He was ribboned at least twice in rapid succession, then at some point a symbiote was implanted and he was returned to the others to act as Apophis's spy. (Moebius part 2)

When the escaping team met up with Teal'c in the forest, Teal'c shot Daniel with a staff weapon immediately -- he could sense the symbiote inside him. Daniel went down, but didn't die -- after a few minutes, he recovered enough to grab his sidearm and shoot Bosworth, killing him. Daniel immediately turned and began firing at the others as well, hitting Teal'c in the arm, before Jack and Kawalsky killed him. (Moebius part 2)

Katep

He and his brother Salatis let the original-timeline team stay with them when they first arrived, the day before one of Ra's public audiences. The two of them had an offering to give to Ra during the audience. Ra wasn't pleased, however, and had Salatis killed as a lesson not to be so disrespectful. (Moebius part 1)

He planned an uprising with the original SG-1 after they were trapped in the past. It didn't go very well -- Jack, Sam, and Teal'c were captured and executed. Katep continued working with Daniel, more slowly and carefully, to build a rebellion that would work (and learning English while he was at it). (Moebius part 2)

When the altered-timeline team came through, Katep greeted them and took them to his home, and  with  Daniel they all began working together on the rebellion and stealing the stargate (to keep Ra from taking it). (Moebius part 2)

top | People

Major Kawalsky X

He was assigned to assemble the first team that would travel through the stargate. (Moebius part 2)

When Jack showed up, he greeted him by his first name. (Moebius part 2)

He was part of the team that went through the gate in the jumper -- although Jack outranked him, Kawalsky was giving at least some of the orders, assigning Donner and Mansfield to stay with the ship and Donner to go with the rest of them. (Moebius part 2)

He was captured along with the rest by Jaffa on Chulak. (Moebius part 2)

After their escape -- thanks to Teal'c, who'd given them back their gear once they convinced him they were telling the truth -- he was angry when Teal'c shot Daniel as soon as they met up in the forest, not believing that Daniel had been goa'ulded. He didn't want to take Teal'c with them. (Moebius part 2)

He believed it once Daniel woke up and shot Bosworth, then Teal'c. Kawalsky and Jack together shot Daniel dead. (Moebius part 2)

Kawalsky was shot and killed by a Jaffa staff weapon while covering the rest of the team's escape as they approached the jumper. (Moebius part 2)

top | People

Robert Kinsey

In 2004, he was president of the United States. He was not amused when he saw the tape the original SG-1 had left at Giza, listing Henry Hayes as president instead of him. (Moebius part 1)

top | People

Mansfield X

Part of the team that used the jumper to go through the stargate to Chulak. Kawalsky assigned him to stay with the ship, along with Donner. (Moebius part 2)

He was shot and killed by a Jaffa staff weapon while covering the rest of the team's escape as they approached the jumper. (Moebius part 2)

top | People

Dr. Rodney McKay

In this reality, he didn't have a citrus allergy. (Moebius part 1)

He was the lead scientist researching the time-travel ship found near the tomb at Giza where the ZPM and video camera had been found. (Moebius part 1)

He kept following Sam around, driving her crazy. (Moebius part 1)

When the team started dialing the gate from the jumper, he gave it 50:50 odds of working, then when it worked, said he was glad it wasn't him going through " that thing" . (Moebius part 2)

He called the jumper Gateship 1. (Moebius part 2)

Colonel Jack O'Neill, retired

He never went back to the Air Force after Charlie died. In 2004, he was working (and possibly living) on his boat, the Homer, chartering fishing trips, tours, and parties. Samuels showed up to bring him back to Washington regarding a matter of national security, but Jack refused to go. (Moebius part 1)

He charged $150 per hour to rent his boat. (Moebius part 1)

When Daniel and Sam approached him to ask for his help with being included in the expedition to find the second stargate, Jack made them rent his boat to talk to him. He also made them wear life jackets, even though the boat never left the dock, and wouldn't let them take them off until they'd debarked back onto the pier. (Moebius part 1)

He was none too impressed with what they were saying, thinking the whole thing sounded crazy, and sent them on their way. (Moebius part 1)

He was reactivated once the stargate was found and brought to Cheyenne Mountain -- finding out that Kawalsky was going to be involved in the mission helped convince him. (Moebius part  2)

Although he didn't originally want Daniel and Sam on the team, he changed his mind after they helped him figure out how to fly the puddlejumper -- he told Kawalsky later that he had a gut feeling about it. (Moebius part 2)

He flew the jumper through the stargate to Chulak, landing a distance from the city so they could move in on foot without being spotted. It didn't work -- they were knocked out by a stun grenade before they got there, and thrown into a prison cell. (Moebius part 2)

Jack let Daniel and Sam do most of the talking to convince Teal'c that they were telling the truth, but he was the one who asked directly for help. When Teal'c couldn't set them free directly, Jack asked for their gear back -- that Teal'c could do, and that was enough to let them break out. (Moebius part 2)

On the way back to the jumper, he was taken aback when Teal'c appeared and shot Daniel in the chest with a staff weapon. With Kawalsky in the background telling him to shoot Teal'c, Jack asked what was going on. He seemed to believe, at least somewhat, Teal'c's story that Daniel had been forced to become host to a Goa'uld to provide information to Apophis and then be a spy in their ranks. When Daniel woke up and began shooting, Jack and Kawalsky together shot him dead. (Moebius part 2)

At Sam's suggestion, Jack time-shifted the jumper back 5,000 years to escape the gliders hot on their tail, then flew through the gate to ancient Egypt. They met up with Katep and then original-timeline Daniel, who told them about the planned uprising. The new mixed team agreed to continue that plan with the addition of using the jumper to steal the stargate while Ra was distracted.   (Moebius part 2)

Jack and Sam went to fix the jumper's cloak (after Daniel finally told them it existed). While she was working on rerouting power, Jack took the opportunity to tell her she was hot. He was a bit taken aback by her flustered response that she was really interested in Daniel. (Moebius part 2)

When they came under attack by a Jaffa patrol, Sam threw caution to the winds and kissed him, much to Jack's surprise.

Ra

When the people of Egypt rose up against him in 2995 BC, he left Earth by ship, taking the stargate with him. (Moebius part 1)

When the altered-timeline team went back to fix things back, they stole the stargate and buried it on Giza, so Ra couldn't take it with him. (Moebius part 2)

top | People

Salatis X

He and his brother Katep let the original-timeline team stay with them when they first arrived, the day before one of Ra's public audiences. The two of them had an offering to give to Ra during the audience. Ra wasn't pleased, however, and had Salatis killed as a lesson not to be so disrespectful. (Moebius part 1)

Colonel Samuels

He was sent by the Pentagon to bring Jack back to Washington to discuss a matter of national security -- the discovery of a tape that had alternate versions of Jack and Drs. Carter and Jackson. (Moebius part 1)

Teal'c

He remained Apophis's loyal First Prime through 2004, having never had the chance to rebel. (Moebius part 2)

When the Tau'ri team was captured and Daniel tried (rather ham-handedly) to explain the situation to Teal'c, Teal'c simply grabbed him by his collar and dragged him off to face Apophis. (Moebius part 2)

He was impressed that Daniel hadn't broken under Apophis's ribboning, apparently enough to think twice about Daniel's suggestion that he watch the tape in the camcorder. When Apophis told him to leave, he went to get the camera and brought it to the cell, asking to be shown. He was stunned at the Teal'c on the tape, thinking it was a trick until original-Teal'c mentioned Rya'c. Although he was convinced by that point, he told Jack he couldn't free them. Jack asked for their weapons and vests -- that much Teal'c could do. (Moebius part 2)

Teal'c met them in the forest after their escape, and immediately shot Daniel in the chest, sensing the symbiote inside him. (Moebius part 2)

He made it back to the jumper with Jack and Sam, after the others all died from staff blasts during the escape. He went with them to ancient Egypt and helped with the plans for the rebellion. (Moebius part 2)

When Jack and Sam were under attack from a Jaffa patrol who'd found the jumper while they were working on it, Teal'c and Daniel rounded up the local rebels and headed out. Teal'c first tried to convince the patrol that Ra was a false god, then when that didn't work, they shouted for the rebels, who appeared all around the Jaffa brandishing weapons. The patrol surrendered. (Moebius part 2)

Timeline

3000 BC

Ra kills Katep's brother, Salatis, in front of the original SG-1, who can do nothing about it. They steal the ZPM but find the jumper surrounded by Jaffa, and are unable to return to it. (Moebius part 1)

The original SG-1 buries the ZPM and a camcorder with information from all of them on it in a First Dynasty tomb at Giza. (Moebius part 1)

SG-1, trapped in the past, plans an uprising with Katep. The attempt doesn't go well: they have to expose themselves to people still loyal to Ra, and Jack, Sam, and Teal'c are all captured and executed before the uprising can take place. (Moebius part 2)

Daniel survives and continues planning, and teaches Katep English. (Moebius part 2)

top | Timeline

2995 BC

According to history in altered 2004, the Egyptians rise up against Ra, who leaves in a ship and takes the stargate with him. (Moebius part 1)

Jack, Sam, and Teal'c arrive in ancient Egypt by puddlejumper after fleeing Chulak. They land and start walking toward the village, where they meet Katep, who invites them into his home. He fills them in on some of what happened to the original team, including the fact that only Daniel escaped capture and execution. (Moebius part 2)

The new mixed team decides to go ahead with the plan for the uprising, with the addition of using the jumper to steal the stargate before Ra can leave with it. Teal'c thinks Daniel and Katep's plan was a good one for an uprising, but not as good for providing a distraction to allow them to steal the gate. (Moebius part 1)

While they're working on fixing the jumper's cloaking mechanism, Jack tells Sam she's hot. She gets flustered and tells him she's interested in Daniel, much to Jack's surprise. (Moebius part 2)

They manage to get the cloak working briefly just as a Jaffa patrol comes by, but it fails again before they leave, and Jack and Sam start taking fire. Sam points out that if the Jaffa breach the hull and reach the engine, the ship could explode. Sam kisses Jack, telling him she lied when she said she liked Daniel -- she just wanted to get to know Jack better. Jack shuts up her explanation by kissing her back. (Moebius part 2)

Daniel and Teal'c show up and Teal'c tells the Jaffa that Ra is a false god. They don't take well to that, so Daniel and Teal'c call in the troops -- the rebels have surrounded the area. The Jaffa patrol lays down its weapons. Jack and Sam decline to leave the jumper just yet. (Moebius part 2)

By all indications, the uprising and stargate theft happened as planned, and the timeline smoothed out. (Moebius part 2)

1934

Dr. Langford explores the plateau at Giza, but there is no stargate to find. All he finds is a tablet inscribed with unreadable hieroglyphics. (Moebius part 1)

top | Timeline

2004

Daniel is teaching English as a Second Language. Sam is a civilian working at the Department of Aeronautical Research headquarters in Washington, DC as an assistant to Dr. Hirschfeld, who puts his own name on her research to gain the credit. Jack is a civilian who charters out his boat -- the Homer -- for fishing trips, tours, and parties. (Moebius part 1)

An archaeological expedition unearths a First Dynasty tomb at Giza, which includes objects they can't identify and a video camera, different from the kind currently available. (Moebius part 1)

Shortly thereafter, a ship is found nearby, believed to be the time-travel ship mentioned on the tape in the camera. (Moebius part 1)

Roughly a month after the video camera is found, Major Davis shows up during one of Daniel's lessons and brings him to the USAF Research Institute at Cheyenne Mountain to discuss a matter of national security, then goes to Sam's office to get her as well. (Moebius part 1)

Samuels shows up at Jack's boat to tell him the Pentagon wants him in Washington to discuss a matter of national security. Jack refuses, and ends the discussion by starting his boat and heading out onto the water. (Moebius part 1)

Daniel translates most of the tablet found in 1934 by Dr. Langford, including the fact that there's a second stargate on the planet, and asks to be part of the expedition. Hammond refuses to allow it. (Moebius part 1)

Daniel decides that he and Sam need someone to go to bat for them to make sure they're included, and they settle on Jack. They go to his boat to talk to him. It doesn't go well. (Moebius part 1)

Back at the USAF Research Institute, Sam and Daniel are showed the ship that was discovered near the spot where the ZPM and camera were found. They also meet Dr. Rodney McKay, who starts hitting on Sam immediately and never lets up. (Moebius part 1)

Sam figures out that when McKay and his team tried to dial the stargate, the effect would have been felt/seen at the second stargate rather than at the puddlejumper itself, and began correlating times with seismic activity, having the advantage of knowing that Daniel had figured out the second gate was in Antarctica. She locates the gate 50 miles out of McMurdo. (Moebius part 1)

Major Kawalsky is assigned to assemble the team to step through the stargate, and picks Jack O'Neill. (Moebius part  2)

Jack accepts  (at  least  partly  because  Kawalsky  was  involved),  is  reactivated,  and heads for Cheyenne Mountain. (Moebius part  2)

As the second stargate is lowered into place on level 28, Hammond thanks Drs. Carter and Jackson for their help, and tells them their job is done -- they're not qualified to step through the stargate. They argue the point all the way to the elevators, where Jack shows up. (Moebius part 1)

Daniel and Sam talk their way onto the team by pointing out that it would be going into alien, enemy territory, outmanned and outgunned -- they'll need the ship to give themselves an advantage. They help Jack figure out how to make it work and beg him to let them join the team -- for whatever reason, he agrees. (Moebius part 2)

A team consisting of Jack, Kawalsky, Daniel, Sam, Bosworth, Donner, and Mansfield boards the jumper (Gateship 1) and goes through the gate to Chulak. Donner and Mansfield stay with the jumper to guard it after they land, while the others continue on foot to the city. Before they can get there, they're knocked out by a Jaffa stun grenade and throw in a holding cell. (Moebius part 2)

Daniel tries to explain to Teal'c what's going on, and is taken before Apophis for his trouble. Apophis ribbons him to no avail, then dismisses Teal'c and keeps going with another ribboning, determined to get answers. (Moebius part 2)

Teal'c recovers the camcorder from the team's gear and brings it to them, asking to be shown the tape. At first he thinks it's a trick, but original-Teal'c's mention of Rya'c convinces him, and he does what he can to help the Tau'ri -- he brings them all their gear. (Moebius part 2)

Daniel is implanted with a Goa'uld symbiote, which tells Apophis eveyrthing Daniel knows. Daniel is released back to the Tau'ri to be a spy in their ranks. (Moebius part 2)

Apophis sends a fleet of ha'tak to Earth in response to the knowledge he gained from Daniel's symbiote. (Moebius part 2)

The Tau'ri escape and began jogging back to the jumper. They meet up with Teal'c in the forest, who promptly senses the symbiote and shoots Daniel in the chest. After a brief standoff while Teal'c explains what he did and why, Daniel wakes up and shoots Bosworth dead, then gets Teal'c in the arm. Jack and Kawalsky open fire on him, killing him. (Moebius part 2)

The suriving team members and Teal'c race for the jumper, chased by many Jaffa. (Moebius part 2)

Donner, Mansfield, and Kawalsky are all shot and killed by Jaffa while covering the escape. (Moebius part 2)

The only survivors to escape are Jack, Sam, and Teal'c. (Moebius part 2)

With gliders hot on their tail and no way to make it through the heavily guarded stargate, the only option Sam can see is to time-travel back 5,000 years and go through to Earth in the past. Jack is a bit reluctant, but does so. They land and start walking toward the village, where they meet Katep, who invites them into his home. (see 2995 BC for further details) (Moebius part 2)
